A Digital Painting

Client Brief

This was a surprise present. A personalised portrait for a 'colourful lady' with a love of flowers. Taken from a number of reference pictures the composition was constructed and colour palette built in a delicate watercolour style. Printed onto heavy canvas board the mount and frame was carefully selected to complement her home.

Private Commissions

Each commission is unique to each client. A personal statement that reflects the character of it's chosen content to suit the home and it's owners.

It's collaboration between me, the artist and the client or collector. The process of commissioning a private commissioned painting can be a simple and enjoyable one. It's a dialogue about carefully selected subject matter, colour palettes, content material and styles.

I work to agreed timings and invite the client to see work in progress, updating with drawing and sketches along the way. Before I frame I may make any final last minute adjustments, then together we consider various styles of framing to personally suit it’s placement in the home.

I have undertaken private commissions created for both digital and direct to canvas creation styles.

A personalised pet portrait for a wonderful dog lover. Taken from a number of reference pictures a close croped  head and shoulders composition was selected to emphasis the 'soul' of Wispa’s deep orange eyes. Bright intense greens and yellows supported the love of the outdoors - a perfect contrasting background to enhance the chocolate coat colour. Printed onto heavy canvas and set in a deep frame, ready to hang.

'The Bee Eaters'

A Canvas Creation. Acrylic on canvas

Client Brief

The client had an empty space at the top of their staircase. Having moved into a newly developed home they required a painting that made a bold colour statement at the top of their dark and bland landing. Both being nature lovers they selected images of birds that were able to capture life, personality and vitality with the adventure of travel they both shared..

Pen & Ink Drawing

Client Brief

The client had always had a love of her collies. She wanted a drawing that captured the vitality and youth of her new beloved member of the famiily. A small black and white line drawing with added areas of colour tint fitted the brief.  Mounted   into a modern white wooden frame.-  One happy client!

Client Brief

The client wanted to commission a special painting of a moment in time when her and her husband moved to the Essex coast. That very same week there was a dramatic storm and the sea front was a wash with big, heavy waves crushing into the promanade wall. It was a surprise present for a 'very specia' birthday, a big family celebration. Her husband was over joyed with his painting now it hangs in pride of place, in the lounge, above the fire place.

Although technically not a commission I sold this painting at a recent exhibition. It's so satisfying when a couple instantly create a contention with one of your paintings, especially when you pour your heart and soul into it.

"Your painting looks lovely in our living room and has had lots of admiration from visitors since we hung it.  I love how the cloud colours change so much depending on the light, and it makes a real difference in our previously bare living room!

Thanks again - we absolutely love it."
