"Your painting looks lovely in our living room and has had lots of admiration from visitors since we hung it.  I love how the cloud colours change so much depending on the light, and it makes a real difference in our previously bare living room!

Thanks again - we absolutely love it."

Unique

Commissions

Listening and understanding to clients requests create that personal level of attention to detail that becomes bespoke and truly personal to you.

Each commission is unique to each client. A personal statement that reflects the character of it's chosen content to suit the home and its owners.

It's a working collaboration between me, the artist and you the client or collector. The process of commissioning a private painting can both be a simple and enjoyable one. It's a dialogue about carefully selected subject matters, colour palettes, content material, styles and sizes.

I work to agreed timings and budgets, inviting you to see work in progress with updates of drawings or sketches along the way. If framing is required then together we select a style of frame to suit the painting and its placement in your home.

If you are considering a private commission please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your requirements:

My Projects

Client Brief

Oil Paintings: Quadriptych Scapes

Together we worked to create a clear vision for the type of paintings my client required after purchasing one of my paintings in a previous exhibition.

With a love of sharp colour contrasts and dramatic land and seascapes, the collection captured atmospheric seasonal changes representing the time of day for time of day and cloud formations.

This collection will be displayed together as a quadriptych in their formal dinning room at home.

Oil on canvas.

Holkham, Norfolk coastline.

The client had just returned from a holiday along the Norfolk coast at Holkham. They had viewed a number of paintings I had on show in an exhibition that depicted scenes of the area, - but unfortunately, they were either the wrong format, colour or style which wouldn’t sit comfortably in their chosen location of a bedroom in their home. Over a number of weeks, we worked together to gather the story with their travel pictures that reflected their memories into one image. The final oil painting depicted a moment in time when a storm was brewing on the horizon and a brisk walk was required back to the hotel before they got both got soaked and the heavens opened!

' We’re delighted with the finished picture. Laura’s professional manner made the process easy and enjoyable.’                                                    Kathy & Paul. Harpenden. Hertfordshire.

NORFOLK APPROACHING STORM

Client Brief

Oil Painting: A Special Moment

The client wanted a surprise present for his wife and family to celebrate a family event. Painted in a classical style to suit the clients' decor, the painting took 6 weeks to complete.

The client visited my studio on a number of occasions to view work in progress, from pencil sketch to the final piece. He was delighted with the final piece, excited about the final unveiling during a family dinner later that week.

Oil Painting: The Storm

The client wanted to commission a special painting of a moment in time when she and her husband moved to the Essex coast. That very same week there was a dramatic storm and the seafront was awash with big, heavy waves crushing into the promenade wall. It was a surprise present for a 'very special' birthday, a big family celebration.

Her husband was overjoyed with his painting. Now it hangs in pride of place, in the lounge, above their fireplace.

Pen & Ink: New Pup

The client had always had a love of her Collies. She wanted a drawing that captured the vitality and youth of her new beloved member of the family. A small black and white line drawing with added areas of colour tints fitted the brief.  Mounted into a modern white wooden frame.-  One happy dog owner!
